December 2006 Dear Amaury, We had a wonderful week in this beautiful studio ! You and your brother really did a great job with the renovation and we were very comfortable here. We will recommend it to others, I hope when the "secret" of your studio becomes better known, you will not raise the price to high (ha! ha!) February 2007 Dear Amaury & Thibault we really enjoyed our stay at Orient and your studios have very good potential. The studios are comfortable and well appointed, with just the right amenities, including mini-fridge, washing machine, stove-top, micro-wave, and TV. Located at the north end of Orient Beach, you can readily walk the beach, take a short drive to the ferry to Pinel Island, or slightly longer to get to the delights of Grand Case. They are located in the former Hotel Mont Vernon, so don't expect an all-inclusive with a wide range of services. Think of it as your private condo for your stay, without concierge or other related services. However, the huge pool is very well maintained AND very private. During our stay, there were rarely more than 15 people at a pool that could easily handle 10 times that, and frequently we were the only couple there. For now, there are no food or beverage services available BUT it is a quiet and private location. You will need a car, but there is plenty of parking near the tennis courts, and Amaury can help to arrange very reasonable car rentals. Lots of places to stock up on groceries within a ten minute drive, restaurants for every budget and taste, and a very good Pharmacie at Cul-de-Sac just down the road. Most of the people staying in the facility are French, either owners or renters, so if part of your holiday objectives include practicing your French, this is a good place to do it. January 2007 Hello all we are Kevin and Suzanne from Michigan and spent 10 days at Amaury and Thibaults unit at the old MT. Vernon in January of 2007. We found their unit to be very clean and felt secure at all times. The apartment has a hurricane shutter for the patio door wall that was electric that we would drop down everytime we left the room for extra security. The room has a nice kitchen area, nice bathroom, good size couch and a comfortable bed. The safe is secure in a closet. The patio was more then comfortable to have our morning coffee and the view was very nice. It was a short walk to the water and we would go for our morning stroll daily. Everyday we would see improvements on the property. The tennis courts were being cleaned and painted. The pool was very clean and additional chairs were brought to the pool during our stay. The grounds were being upgraded daily. We thought many locals lived on the property and were always greeted with a pleasant Bon Jour by anyone we met. There was security 24-7 and never once did we feel unsafe. The beach in front of the hotel is not maintained as it was in years passed but we spend most of our time towards Club O so it did not matter to us at all. July 2007 Amaury, Thanks for a great week at Mt. Vernon. The studio is very comfortable and the view of the beach in the morning is awesome. We didn't mind the stairs we had to take to the parking lot because the studio is very near. We didn't use the pool that much, however, it is spacious and very well kept. The renovations that are being done on the property will make Mt. Vernon one of the best places to stay on Orient Beach. Definitely, we will go back; this time for two weeks. July 2007 Hello Amaury and Thibaud, Thank you for sharing your wonderful studio! We explored many beautiful places on the island and the beach in front of Mt. Vernon was by far the most private and refreshingly beautiful source of water around. Also, thank you for allowing us to extend beyond our original reservations. Next time we visit we will be sure to visit your restaurant. You are so fortunate to live on such a gorgeous island. January 2008 Amaury & Thibault, I wanted to post this on your guestbook in reference to our stay in November of 2007. We had such a great stay. The flat was ideal! The kitchen was mondern and well furnished for our cooking needs. The beds were comfortable and firm. The flat had a cool, relaxing feeling; nice to come home to after a day on the beach or exploring Pinel Island. We usually took our breakfast on the patio with the sweet smell of the local flowers, and a wonderful view of the sea; lunches on Orient Beach with our feet in the blue Caribbean, and dinners at the Bistrot Caraibes or at our flat. The restaurant was unbelievable! What gourmet selections and the au gratin potatoes were to die for. We enjoyed grocery shopping in the local market. Adding to my limited French was made easier by interaction with the friendly locals. We can't wait to get back. Thanks so much for your hospitality. March 2008 Dear Amaury, Thanks so much for everything! We had a wonderful time in SXM. The room was just as promised; spacious beyond what the pictures show, and comfortable. We felt very safe and liked being away from the busy city areas. It was so nice to walk each morning down to Orient Beach. The pool is really very nice and it is always quiet. The roadway in leaves something to be desired, but once you are parked and in the studio- everything else is wonderful! We will return to see you for sure the next time we are in SXM. March 2008 Amaury & Thibault, I wanted to provide you with a review of our stay so you can post on your website. It follows, Kate and I were looking for a nice location that would be accessible but yet off the beaten path Your studio location was perfect!. This is our first time inSt Martin and we really enjoyed staying at your location given how close it is to the beach and the magnificent view to the each and the Atlantic ocean. The room was impeccably decorated, the appliances were brand new and the tiling was very beautifully done. The bathroom was also very nicely decorated and very well kept. So that's what we liked, clean and nicely kept. The pool was also very nice although we opted for the beach most times. Please feel free to give our name and email for any references for future customers. We are certainly planning on coming back, just make sure the new customers don´t get our room!!!! May 2008 Dear Amaury, We just arrived home in Massachusetts about an hour ago. I wanted to email you as soon as possible to thank you for an unforgettable experience in St.Martin. I have to tell you that we were a little apprehensive about staying at the former Mt. Vernon. We know that over the years it has fallen on bad times. We were thouroughly shocked when we opened the door to your studio!!! It was absolutely perfect. We also wanted to tell you that from the moment we met you in person we could tell that you are a gentleman of the highest quality. We hope that we can rent from you next year and stay for an even longer period of time. Five days is not enough time to live in paradise. We hope that all goes well for you in your restaurant as well. We enjoyed it immensely. We can only hope that the US dollar stabilizes against the Euro for the sake of both of us. June 2008 Hello Amaury & Thibault! There are no words to accurately describe our 4 week stay in your studio. We had an incredible time! It was all we had hoped for. We were so comfortable and felt completely at home. The studio was very clean and nicely decorated. We felt very safe and secure. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and ate most of our meals on the spacious patio while enjoying the amazing view!!!!!!!! The grounds have lovely trees and flowers that were nicely manicured. The pool is huge, very well kept with comfortable cushioned lounge chairs. Gorgeous view of the beach from the pool deck! People that we crossed paths with were very friendly. Security Staff as well as the pizza place and grocerie were friendly and accomodating.
